This blog replaces the focus group interview I had originally planned for my dissertation study on teacher talk, teaching philosophy, and effective literacy instruction. Think of the blog as a bulletin board, where I post questions and you post your responses. You may respond to any or all of my posted questions. Besides myself, there are 4 exemplary primary-grade teachers posting to the blog. One teacher in each grade level: kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade.

Visitors do not impact what I do, how I teach, or how my students act/learn. My classroom has many visitors/volunteers throughout the week-so, they are very accustomed to seeing new people in the classroom. We simply carry on as usual.
Posting for BA (second grade):
I wanted my classroom to be like a smooth running engine. It wasn't. Your presence helped me to tinker and fine tune everything along a bit bumpy road at times. My classroom is like a close knit family. Your visits made me appreciate that. It helped my students and myself to grow a little and explore outside our comfort zone.
